A Federally-inspected storage facility. And proud of it.
In order to accommodate our customers and increase efficiency New Shah Impex has its own cold storage, which fully complies with the requirements of the Food Safety Enhancement Program (FSEP) by CFIA, which includes requirements of the Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures (MOP), Standard Operating Practices (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP (HAZARD ANALYSIS AND CRITICAL CONTROL POINT) Plans for storage facility.
Being a federally inspected establishment (S578), our facility is constantly enhanced and improved by the CFIA (CANADIAN FOOD INSECTION AND AGENCY). Hence the most up to date policies and procedures are implemented in order to ensure quality and temperature control. Such policies include monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs) and controlling under the HACCP plan and pre-requisite programs such as, premises program, receiving, storage and shipping program, equipment program, personnel program, sanitation program, pest control program and recall program are in place to assure good manufacturing practices are adhered at all times.
Pre-operational inspection by Quality Assurance Division is a daily routine, which includes monitoring check lists and on-site verification activities to enhance the food safety program and quality perspectives.
Having a federally inspected facility minimizes our re-inspection time as the inspector comes on site to re-inspect our imported meat. In addition to our HACCP program, our traceability program enables us to remove any unsafe or volatile product(s) which our facility has imported and sold, from the market quickly and efficiently.
Therefore, HACCP is very critical to us as it prioritizes and controls potential hazards in food distribution. By controlling major food risks, such as microbiological, chemical and physical contaminants, we can better assure our consumers our products are as safe as good science and technology allows.
